ZATCA e-invoicing, handled
Every VAT-registered business in the Kingdom must issue electronic invoices that meet ZATCA’s rules. Sawwy does this for you in every plan, so you can keep selling.
Both phases, in every plan
Phase 1: Generation
Invoices are made in a compliant system, never edited after issue, and simplified invoices carry a QR code with your name, VAT number, time, total and VAT.
Phase 2: Integration
Each invoice is signed and sent to ZATCA. Standard (business-to-business) invoices are cleared before you share them; simplified invoices are reported within 24 hours. Sawwy does both in the background.
ZATCA calls businesses to Phase 2 in waves. You can start on Phase 1 and switch to Phase 2 when your wave is due, without changing how you work.
Connecting your shop takes six steps
-
Business details
Your legal name, VAT number and CR number.
-
National address
Building number, street, district, city and postal code, checked as you type.
-
Invoicing unit
Each counter or branch that issues invoices is set up as a unit.
-
One-time code
Get a code from the Fatoora portal and paste it in. That’s the only time you visit the portal.
-
Compliance checks
Sawwy sends the required test invoices and shows each result.
-
Go live
From now on every invoice is signed and sent automatically.
The rules that catch people out, built in
- Invoices before setup aren’t lost
- Invoices you make before finishing setup wait in a queue and are sent once you’re connected.
- Credit notes, not deletions
- An invoice already sent to ZATCA can’t be cancelled. Sawwy offers a credit note instead, which is what the rules require.
- VAT per line, rounded correctly
- 15% VAT is worked out on each line and rounded to two decimals, the way ZATCA validates it.
- Zero-rated and exempt items
- Items that aren’t charged 15% carry the right exemption reason on the invoice.
- Retries when the connection drops
- If ZATCA can’t be reached, the invoice is kept and sent again. You see its status on the document.
- VAT return report
- Sales and purchase VAT for each period, laid out the way you file it.
